The ECo Impact awards provide seed funding across Georgetown’s schools and campuses for projects that involve environmental and/or sustainability themes. Funding is designed to seed research projects and grant proposals that jumpstart new collaborations and interdisciplinary research inquiries. The aim of these awards is to transform ideas into actionable projects and to help make Georgetown and its scholarship greener and more vibrant.
In 2026 the Earth Commons awarded the project “Sacred Plants. Environmental Justice and Ecospiritual Futures of Sacred Fungi in the Sierra Mazateca” with the Eco Impact award.
